For 25 years, Lloyd produced an annual Jazz Celebration concert through Bismarck State College in conjunction with the North Dakota Humanities Council. The event brought many world class jazz musicians to Bismarck, including Jaki Byard, Alan Dawson, and Dizzy Gillespie. Byard would become an especially close friend of the family throughout the decades.

Patricia Ann Anderson, age 88, of Lakeland, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2022 with family by her side. Patricia was born on February 17, 1934 in St. Paul, MN, to parents Antonio and Rose Basciano. She married the love of her life Gerard Anderson on May 3, 1952. Lloyd graduated from Washburn High School in 1959. He earned a BS from Minot State University, a Master of Education from the University of Montana and a Doctorate of Education from the University of North Dakota. As a secondary student, Lloyd achieved status as an Eagle Scout. His working career included teaching secondary English. He served for many years as Academic Dean at Bismarck State College and then transitioned to teaching Psychology, where he loved working more closely with students. For one year, he served as interim president of Standing Rock Community College and served to accredit many community colleges in the Midwest.
